Mechanical & Equipment Installation

For 25 years, Lexicon, Inc. has been a leader in mechanical installations for the construction and renovation of steel mills. We have the experience and capabilities to install furnaces, mill stands, presses, motors, bridge cranes, and many other large mechanical devices.

Today, Lexicon, Inc. is one of the most experienced contractors in steel mill mechanical equipment installations. And, our expertise allows us to serve other industries as well, including the cement, power, and mining industries.

Plant Maintenance

Over the last 25 years, Lexicon, Inc. has become an expert in performing maintenance for industrial facilities. In fact, we currently have permanent maintenance operations in 10 facilities.

With our permanent maintenance personnel and our new construction group personnel, we are also able to perform "outage" or "shutdown" services. We routinely staff outages with up to 500 personnel, and we can perform these outages whether or not we have a permanent maintenance presence in your facility.

Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for all repairs and maintenance of equipment and support structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.  Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements including rigging.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.  Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Install special functional and structural parts in devices; start devices to test their performance.  Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
  • Perform non-essential functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of two years of experience as a maintenance mechanic is required to include gas, diesel, pneumatics and hydraulic equipment.  Certificate of welding ability is preferred.  Must have all required hand tools.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift in excess of 100 pounds frequently.  Must be able to lift your own weight while climbing ladders, steel bracing, stairs, etc.  Must be able to climb to heights in excess of 300 feet.  Excessive amounts of pulling/pushing at least 100 pounds frequently.  Must be able to crawl in small or tight places.  Job requires excessive amounts of bending, stooping, and carrying.  Exposed to extreme temperatures.  Must be able to work in a dusty and noisy work environment.  Must be able to be around high voltage electromagnetic fields.

Structural Ironworker

Position Summary

Structural Ironworkers raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
  • Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural members.
  • Bolt aligned structural steel members in position for permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.
  • Guide girders or other structural steel members to position them into place.
  • Cut, bend, and weld steel pieces, using metal shears, torches and welding equipment.
  • Fasten structural steel members to hoist cables, using chains, cables, or rope.
  • Force structural steel members into final positions, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
  • Dismantle and assemble structures and equipment.
  • Comply with all company safety and QA/QC program and OSHA regulations.

Welder (Field)

Position Summary:  A welder is responsible for welding fabricated components to assemble structural forms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding applying proper welding techniques.
  • Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
  • Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Set up equipment and welds parts, using arc welding equipment.
  • May assemble parts by bolting.
  • May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press and other hand tools.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Responsible for adhering to Quality Assurance Program regulations.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Prospect Steel has grown into one of the largest and most sophisticated structural steel fabrication and erection contractors in the country over the last 30 years. We have the ability to design, fabricate, deliver, manage, and erect complicated steel structures. We also supply and coordinate the installation of joist, deck, grating and miscellaneous steel.

Prospect Steel offers services for all types of bridges and industrial facilities, including steel mills, power plants, and automobile plants. We provide services in the commercial market as well. Among our commercial market offerings are services for high-rise offices, residential towers, convention centers, arenas, and health care facilities. Capabilities

Prospect Steel utilizes approximately 400,000 square feet of fabrication space.

We utilize CNC controlled equipment. This includes burn tables, plasma tables, drill lines, punch lines, and automated scribers for fitting. We have overhead crane capacity up to 80 tons. Prospect Steel can fabricate all aspects of your project, but we specialize in heavy columns and girders. We lead the industry in fabricating plate girders to meet Technical Report 13 requirements. Prospect Steel is also a full-service bridge fabrication company. We are capable of fabricating simple beam bridges as well as bascule and pivot bridges. Our ability to fabricate plate girders allows us to specialize in girders with sweep and camber.

Our facility in Little Rock is located in an industrial port, with easy access to barge loading and nearby interstates. Our facility in northeast Arkansas is located within a few miles of the Mississippi River, with easy interstate and barge-loading access as well. The central locations of both shops give us an outstanding ability to ship anywhere in the United States by truck, rail, or barge. Prospect Steel's locations give it an immediate advantage due to its proximity to Nucor Yamato in Blytheville, Arkansas. This reduces our inbound freight allowing us to be competitive in markets across the country.

Prospect Steel's method of running a project is second to none. We utilize BIM Technology on all of our projects. We place a project manager at the job site on all complex projects to coordinate fabrication, sequencing, delivery, erecting, and field corrections.

Prospect Steel is an industry leader when it comes to electronic data submission between all stakeholders on a project. We routinely utilize our models to work within a virtual job to expedite approval, the RFI process, sequencing, and scheduling.

Class B Welder

Position Summary

The Class B Welder is responsible for welding material according to specifications of job orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and understand welding symbols and select proper welding material needed to finish for fitting, painting, and shipping.
  • Locate pieces approved by Quality Control for welding.  Gather equipment necessary to complete the job.
  • Clean welded pieces for next phase of processing.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company safety and QA/QC programs and OSHA regulations.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
    Perform non-essential functions as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of two years’ welding experience required.  Must be able to read and comprehend welding symbols and instructions.  Must be able to read and understand structural drawings.  Must be able to pass a tape measure test.  Must have ability to pass an unlimited thickness groove plat test in the vertical and overhead positions using FCAW and SMAW.  Must be able to carbon arc gouge the back side of butt joints to sound metal.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift at least 100 pounds frequently.  Excessive amounts of overtime and weekend work.  Job requires excessive amounts of bending and stooping in order to weld in difficult positions.  Must be able to tolerate a dusty and noisy work environment.  Must be able to tolerate to extreme temperatures.

About

Custom Metals was founded in 1974, and has made a name for itself pioneering innovations in sheet metal and plate fabrication, installation, and maintenance. Custom Metals serves a broad range of industries, including steel, power, cement, pulp and paper, food processing, and petrochemical.

From our origins as an HVAC fabricator, Custom Metals has grown into one of the largest heavy plate fabricators in America. We still operate a large HVAC shop today, and we specialize in complex projects, such as elevated ductwork, hoppers, and pressure vessels.

At Custom Metals, we shop-assemble all pieces to ensure that, once delivered, the pieces will fit. We bring value-engineering ideas to the table during fabrication, transportation, and erecting. Custom Metals offers field assembly of our shop-fabricated platework and we can utilize our sister company Schueck Steel in order to offer complete installation of our fabricated platework.

Capabilities

Custom Metals has three fabrication facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jonesboro, Arkansas. Our state-of-the-art heavy-plate shop in Little Rock was built in 2007, and spans 120,000 square feet. This shop contains 10 overhead cranes with lifting capacities of up to 80 tons and hook heights up to 40 feet.

Our Little Rock facility uses CNC-controlled burn tables, and it has plate-rolls capable of rolling plates up to 2.5 inches thick. We also have the ability to fabricate miscellaneous structural steel that is associated with our plate fabrication projects.

Custom Metals has an additional 25,000-square-foot HVAC shop in Little Rock with the ability to fabricate large commercial and industrial HVAC projects. Our 14,000-square-foot shop in Jonesboro can fabricate HVAC ductwork, lighter weight steel ductwork, and miscellaneous structural steel.

Custom Metals has a proven track record with USDA and FDA projects in the meat, poultry, dairy, bakery, and cereal processing markets. Our facilities in both Little Rock and Jonesboro specialize in stainless food processing fabrication, installation, and plant maintenance. Our Jonesboro facility serves as a hub for a significant plant maintenance operation.

All of our shops have the ability to work with a wide range of steel, including A36, A752 Grade 50, 516 Grade 70, aluminum, and chromalloy.

Our Little Rock facilities have the ability to ship by truck, rail, and barge. Depending on the project destination and offload capabilities, we also have the ability to provide shop-assembly of large pieces shipped by barge.

Certifications

Custom Metals is accredited by the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, as well as the National Boiler Code. We hold U, R, PP, and S stamps for vessel fabrication, modification and repair, and the installation of power piping systems.

Our documented quality assurance program provides in-house inspection and testing services to ensure compliance to customer and accreditation specifications.

HOUSTON, June 2015 – U.S.-based golf course construction company Heritage Links has joined with Malaysian golf services company MST Golf, to form the new company Heritage Links MST, a joint-venture partnership that will offer golf course construction and project management services throughout Asia. Both companies are established leaders in their respective sectors of the golf industry. The combined expertise of the two companies provides Asian golf developers and existing golf course owners with a new solution for turn-key golf services that now include all phases of golf course construction and renovation.

Heritage Links, based in Houston, Texas, has been involved in some of the most well-known golf course construction projects in recent years. These include the building of Liberty National in New Jersey, the renovation of the Blue Monster Course at Trump National Doral in Florida, and the construction of Chambers Bay in Washington state, site of this month’s US Open. In additional to their domestic U.S. projects, Heritage Links has built courses in Mexico, Asia, Middle East, and the Caribbean. A “Certified” builder by the Golf Course Builders Association of America, they won the 2007 Builders Excellence Award for their work at Liberty National and the 2008 award for their work at Chambers Bay. Their courses have served as venues for the PGA Tour, European PGA Tour, Asian PGA Tour, and the USGA. Over the years, Heritage Links has worked and maintained strong working relationships with all renowned golf course architects and designers around the world. To better serve clients in Asia more effectively and efficiency, Heritage Links decided to form joint venture with a strong local partner with the same long term business objectives.

The creation of Heritage Links MST, merges the superior ability and knowledge of both companies to provide golf course developers and existing golf course owners in Asia with a turnkey solution for their golf construction needs. The new company, which is based in Kuala Lumpur, will be devoted to the project management of course construction, renovation and rebuilding projects. The new company is considered highly capable of administering all facets of golf course building including consultation, pre-construction planning, materials procurement, construction supervision, and technical construction expertise.

Jon O'Donnell

Jon O'Donnell

Division President

Jon P. O'Donnell has over 25 years of experience in the golf course industry including golf course construction, development services, and golf course maintenance. His current role as Division President of Heritage Links allows him to utilize these years of experience and relationships in the industry that have been created over the years.

He started his career in golf course maintenance after graduating from Penn State University in 1987 where he then worked at courses such as Augusta National Golf Club and then went on to manage the facility at the Vintage Club in Indian Wells, California.

After a decision for a career re-direction he started in the golf course construction industry. This determination had him building golf courses from California to China and from India to the Philippines. After spending 9 years in Singapore and building several dozen courses throughout the Pacific Rim, he returned to the US where he resides in Houston, Texas and attends to the day-to-day operation of Certified Golf Course Builder, Heritage Links.

Oscar Rodriguez

Vice President

Oscar Rodriquez brings over twenty years of experience in golf course construction to his role as Vice President of Heritage Links. He has built his career working in executive roles at other highly regarded companies, including serving as past president or vice president for three competitors.

Through these years of experience, Oscar has built a wealth of long standing relationships and industry contacts which fuel Heritage Links business and project development. He is also responsible for all aspects of project management including scheduling, coordination, and control of construction activities

Oscar is an active industry member and has contributed to numerous golf course industry associations. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Golf Course Builders Association of America, acted as their Chairman of Education Committee, and is a current member of Golf Inc.'s annual award selection panel.

David Teets

David Teets

Controller

David Teets has held senior financial positions in construction companies for over 30 years. His experience has included small and medium-sized regional builders, as well as large national developers and contractors, including a publicly-traded environmental group. His background includes the design, building, staffing and operations of top-line golf facilities across the country for both contractors and developers.

Teets provides Heritage-Links with financial system and controls, as well as a stable administrative infrastructure.

He holds an MBA degree from Nova Southeastern University and a BBA in Accounting from Stetson University. His experience includes senior positions with two Big 4 accounting firms and he has spent the majority of his career in the real estate development and construction industry, with a track record of providing financial acumen, stability and vision.

A trained and successful Club General Manager, Teets also provides a wealth of golf course operational expertise to Heritage Links and a solid contact base throughout the golf club industry.

David will be active in providing innovative financial reporting, planning and job costing to insure the highest degree of accuracy for our clients and project teams.

Tim Hubbard

Senior Project Manager

Tim Hubbard began his career in the golf course industry while studying at South Dakota State University where he majored in Landscape Design. His 22 years of experience in the industry has included golf course maintenance, construction, and most notably golf course irrigation.

Tim started his golf course career doing maintenance in the summers while attending school. After graduating, he went on the road building courses across the country. He was in the field for 5 years before moving into a project management position. From here, Tim managed golf course irrigation projects, construction projects and park development projects.

The experience and relationships Tim has created over the years are a great asset to our company. In his role as our Senior Project Manager, Tim will ensure our clients receive not only a quality product but also a quality experience through the project. Tim will also be developing our irrigation and park departments.

Mike Webb

Mike Webb

Construction Manager

In his 36 years of involvement in the golf course industry, Mike Webb has participated in all phases of golf course construction and his experiences have given him opportunity to work on a variety of projects from the U.S. and Canada, to Japan, Europe and the Caribbean.

Mike Webb began his career in golf course construction in 1979 working as a shaper in Canada and has since continued developing his industry expertise as a Construction Manager. He is very skillful at managing sub-contractors, administrative activities, construction team members, and overseeing the shaping, surveying, and all day-to-day operations on-site at various golf course construction and renovation projects. His involvement with Heritage Links has placed him on some of the most well-known projects in the World.

Doug Wright

Doug Wright

Project Manager

Doug has been a student and professional of golf course construction, design, and maintenance since the age of 18, and has held positions in all three of those respective areas of the golf industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University with focuses in hydrology and construction management.

In his role as Project Manager with Heritage Links Doug is often one of the first contact that many clients make. His duties include administration of all preconstruction activities and the execution of project management during the construction phase. His education in engineering provides Doug the ability to oversee the technical aspects of golf course construction. Doug's architectural passion and skills also provides clients and architects the assurance that Heritage Links will match the design goals of any project.

He was awarded the winning design in LINKS Magazine's first annual design contest, being selected from over 1,100 individuals. Doug is also a notable landscape photographer who's work has been featured in the AMC's Outdoors Magazine, the Houston Business Journal, and the marketing material for various golf courses.

Project Director for Southeast Asia

Craig is a dynamic and versatile operational and project management professional with over 15 years of experience within the golf course construction and renovation industry. He delivers both domestic and international golf course projects from construction to handover and is recognized for providing successful projects throughout their entire lifecycle.

Craig identifies the scope and breadth of each project and develops innovative ideas using cost-effective strategies and methodologies for improving overall construction operations. Craig is one who values high ethical standards, collaboration, new ideas, and dedication to “best practices” in all areas of expertise.

Craig uses his skills successfully by developing unique systems to meet with the quality, monitoring, reporting, managerial requirements, and compliance of each project he undertakes. He utilizes strong communication and negotiation skills which allows him to interface and converse effectively with all levels and disciplines of internal and external organizations.

He is accustomed to working with tight deadlines and excels at diffusing high-pressure environments. Craig has the good fortune of successfully establishing cultures of excellence by developing and leading motivated and cohesive teams to support the execution of strategic plans and objectives.

Eddie Dominguez

Project Manager / Estimator

Eddie Dominguez has over 24 years within the golf course construction industry. His skills include estimating and project management and has been involved with over 200 projects over the years. His experience has given him the opportunity to have worked with the finest golf course architects within the golf industry. He has also been involved with some of the best known golf courses in the United States.

Eddie’s father started him at an early age when he would take him to the local country club in Borrego Springs, CA. Eddie has a passion for the game, the industry and the golf course projects he is involved with. His experiences which include golf course construction, landscape development and maintenance, has taken Eddie to various projects on several different continents. Having worked hands-on in the field, he has brought that experience to his project management and estimating skills which he is involved with each day.

Sean Payton

Sean Payton

Assistant Project Manager

Sean Payton joined the Heritage team in 2014. He began his career in the United States Navy where he served four years stationed in Virginia Beach, VA. Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Houston. With over ten years’ experience in the construction and oil & gas industries, Sean has been a welcomed addition to Heritage Links. Most recently, Sean was the Field Service Coordinator for Cameron Rig Solutions where he managed and coordinated the activities of Aftermarket Support which included rig construction, commissioning’s, and product support.

As Assistant Project Manager for Heritage Links, Sean manages our field and administrative operations. He coordinates the mobilization of equipment and personnel for our new and existing projects. Additionally, Sean is responsible for billing, office administration, and customer support in order to ensure client satisfaction. In this role, Sean will also assist in the development of our irrigation and parks department.
