Being a certified builder indicates that Heritage Links is one of the few companies at the pinnacle of the industry and has achieved the highest standard within the golf course construction industry over the past five years.
The golf courses Heritage Links has been associated with have been some of the best-known and the most recognizable in the world. Heritage Links was the recipient of the "Builders Excellence Award" by Golf Industry in 2007 and 2008 for their work associated with Liberty National and Chambers Bay.

Heritage Links Partners with MST Golf
HOUSTON, June 2015 – U.S.-based golf course construction company Heritage Links has joined with Malaysian golf services company MST Golf, to form the new company Heritage Links MST, a joint-venture partnership that will offer golf course construction and project management services throughout Asia. Both companies are established leaders in their respective sectors of the golf industry. The combined expertise of the two companies provides Asian golf developers and existing golf course owners with a new solution for turn-key golf services that now include all phases of golf course construction and renovation.
Heritage Links, based in Houston, Texas, has been involved in some of the most well-known golf course construction projects in recent years. These include the building of Liberty National in New Jersey, the renovation of the Blue Monster Course at Trump National Doral in Florida, and the construction of Chambers Bay in Washington state, site of this month’s US Open. In additional to their domestic U.S. projects, Heritage Links has built courses in Mexico, Asia, Middle East, and the Caribbean. A “Certified” builder by the Golf Course Builders Association of America, they won the 2007 Builders Excellence Award for their work at Liberty National and the 2008 award for their work at Chambers Bay. Their courses have served as venues for the PGA Tour, European PGA Tour, Asian PGA Tour, and the USGA. Over the years, Heritage Links has worked and maintained strong working relationships with all renowned golf course architects and designers around the world. To better serve clients in Asia more effectively and efficiency, Heritage Links decided to form joint venture with a strong local partner with the same long term business objectives.
MST Golf, based in Kuala Lumpur is a preeminent golf company in Southeast Asia and provides a full range of integrated services. With the slogan “Everything Golf”, their services include retail, wholesale, driving ranges, teaching academies, corporate merchandise, event management and golf vacations. Established since 1989, MST Golf is well respected and significant regional player with distribution and sales channel infrastructure, well established to cover the entire Southeast Asia with its corporate head office in Kuala Lumpur and offices in Singapore, Bangkok in Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. At the core of the company is the largest golf retail chain in Malaysia and the region’s most recognized golf retailer and key retail partner for many top international brands. Among the brands, MST Golf is the long time merchandise licensee for the PGA Tour and LPGA in the region. Leveraging on their knowledge of the Asia business environment and culture, extensive networking and solid reputation in the global golf industry, MST Golf is extending its golf service portfolio to include golf course construction and project management through its partnership with Heritage Links.
The creation of Heritage Links MST, merges the superior ability and knowledge of both companies to provide golf course developers and existing golf course owners in Asia with a turnkey solution for their golf construction needs. The new company, which is based in Kuala Lumpur, will be devoted to the project management of course construction, renovation and rebuilding projects. The new company is considered highly capable of administering all facets of golf course building including consultation, pre-construction planning, materials procurement, construction supervision, and technical construction expertise.

Executive Team
Jon O'Donnell
Division President
Jon P. O'Donnell has over 25 years of experience in the golf course industry including golf course construction, development services, and golf course maintenance. His current role as Division President of Heritage Links allows him to utilize these years of experience and relationships in the industry that have been created over the years.
He started his career in golf course maintenance after graduating from Penn State University in 1987 where he then worked at courses such as Augusta National Golf Club and then went on to manage the facility at the Vintage Club in Indian Wells, California.
After a decision for a career re-direction he started in the golf course construction industry. This determination had him building golf courses from California to China and from India to the Philippines. After spending 9 years in Singapore and building several dozen courses throughout the Pacific Rim, he returned to the US where he resides in Houston, Texas and attends to the day-to-day operation of Certified Golf Course Builder, Heritage Links.
Oscar Rodriguez
Vice President
Oscar Rodriquez brings over twenty years of experience in golf course construction to his role as Vice President of Heritage Links. He has built his career working in executive roles at other highly regarded companies, including serving as past president or vice president for three competitors.
Through these years of experience, Oscar has built a wealth of long standing relationships and industry contacts which fuel Heritage Links business and project development. He is also responsible for all aspects of project management including scheduling, coordination, and control of construction activities
Oscar is an active industry member and has contributed to numerous golf course industry associations. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Golf Course Builders Association of America, acted as their Chairman of Education Committee, and is a current member of Golf Inc.'s annual award selection panel.
Tim Hubbard
Senior Project Manager
Tim Hubbard began his career in the golf course industry while studying at South Dakota State University where he majored in Landscape Design. His 22 years of experience in the industry has included golf course maintenance, construction, and most notably golf course irrigation.
Tim started his golf course career doing maintenance in the summers while attending school. After graduating, he went on the road building courses across the country. He was in the field for 5 years before moving into a project management position. From here, Tim managed golf course irrigation projects, construction projects and park development projects.
The experience and relationships Tim has created over the years are a great asset to our company. In his role as our Senior Project Manager, Tim will ensure our clients receive not only a quality product but also a quality experience through the project. Tim will also be developing our irrigation and park departments.
Mike Webb
Construction Manager
In his 36 years of involvement in the golf course industry, Mike Webb has participated in all phases of golf course construction and his experiences have given him opportunity to work on a variety of projects from the U.S. and Canada, to Japan, Europe and the Caribbean.
Mike Webb began his career in golf course construction in 1979 working as a shaper in Canada and has since continued developing his industry expertise as a Construction Manager. He is very skillful at managing sub-contractors, administrative activities, construction team members, and overseeing the shaping, surveying, and all day-to-day operations on-site at various golf course construction and renovation projects. His involvement with Heritage Links has placed him on some of the most well-known projects in the World.
Doug Wright
Project Manager
Doug has been a student and professional of golf course construction, design, and maintenance since the age of 18, and has held positions in all three of those respective areas of the golf industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University with focuses in hydrology and construction management.
In his role as Project Manager with Heritage Links Doug is often one of the first contact that many clients make. His duties include administration of all preconstruction activities and the execution of project management during the construction phase. His education in engineering provides Doug the ability to oversee the technical aspects of golf course construction. Doug's architectural passion and skills also provides clients and architects the assurance that Heritage Links will match the design goals of any project.
He was awarded the winning design in LINKS Magazine's first annual design contest, being selected from over 1,100 individuals. Doug is also a notable landscape photographer who's work has been featured in the AMC's Outdoors Magazine, the Houston Business Journal, and the marketing material for various golf courses.
Eddie Dominguez
Project Manager / Estimator
Eddie Dominguez has over 24 years within the golf course construction industry. His skills include estimating and project management and has been involved with over 200 projects over the years. His experience has given him the opportunity to have worked with the finest golf course architects within the golf industry. He has also been involved with some of the best known golf courses in the United States.
Eddie’s father started him at an early age when he would take him to the local country club in Borrego Springs, CA. Eddie has a passion for the game, the industry and the golf course projects he is involved with. His experiences which include golf course construction, landscape development and maintenance, has taken Eddie to various projects on several different continents. Having worked hands-on in the field, he has brought that experience to his project management and estimating skills which he is involved with each day.
Sean Payton
Assistant Project Manager
Sean Payton joined the Heritage team in 2014. He began his career in the United States Navy where he served four years stationed in Virginia Beach, VA. Sean holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Houston. With over ten years’ experience in the construction and oil & gas industries, Sean has been a welcomed addition to Heritage Links. Most recently, Sean was the Field Service Coordinator for Cameron Rig Solutions where he managed and coordinated the activities of Aftermarket Support which included rig construction, commissioning’s, and product support.
As Assistant Project Manager for Heritage Links, Sean manages our field and administrative operations. He coordinates the mobilization of equipment and personnel for our new and existing projects. Additionally, Sean is responsible for billing, office administration, and customer support in order to ensure client satisfaction. In this role, Sean will also assist in the development of our irrigation and parks department.
Sergio Cadengo
Project Manager
Sergio Cadengo has over 16 years of experience in the golf course construction industry with extensive project portfolios as well as experience managing large, complex development projects. He began his career as an Assistant Project Manager and evolved into positions including Project Manager and Construction Manager for notable GC Firms. Working in both public and private environments, Sergio has a vast understanding of construction projects.
In his role as Project Manager at Heritage Links, Sergio fosters an environment of teamwork and ensures that strategy is clearly defined while overseeing performance and maintaining morale. His strong client service skills enhance Heritages’ process-driven management philosophy.
Sergio is a Construction Manager Certified Professional. He has been a member of the Golf Course Builders Association since 2008.
Gary Bergholtz
Controller
Gary Bergholtz has over 15 years of experience in business financial management as Controller and Director in a diverse background of construction, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries.
Gary received his education at Sam Houston State University. His role at Heritage Links is to work with our project management team to provide budgeting and financial management to each project. His broad experience in diverse work environments in accounting, construction, management, and business development provides an effective link from the financial office to the field, and the customer.
Gary concurrently served the community with 10 years of service in the Fire Department attaining the rank of Sr. Captain.
Jorge Huerta
Senior Project Manager
Jorge Huerta has over 30 years of experience in the golf course construction industry. Jorge received his education from United States International University with a B.S. Sports Education. He has extensive experience in development and construction with extensive experience with workforce sourcing and management. Jorge is responsible for all aspects of project management, including scheduling, coordination, and control of construction activities.
Jorge has expert knowledge in international business development, management and construction. Including Mexico, Caribbean, South America and Asia.
Jorge most notably has managed golf course construction projects with 18 awards in Best Course by Golf Week and Golf Magazine.
Blake Smith
Project Manager
Blake Smith is responsible for coordinating and managing projects from pre-construction and mobilization through the scope execution and final completion with a focus on scheduling, budget, and quality.
Blake has served the Lexicon family of companies since 1999. His assignments in both the Corporate Level and Division Levels have allowed him to develop his Project Management skills in diversified work environments. With a process oriented approach, Blake has been involved with the management and successful completion of multiple projects in both Golf Construction and Industrial Construction over the last 18 years.
Blake is a veteran. His education includes Blinn College and University of Houston, Project Management Certificate, and he is a member of PMI Clear Lake Chapter. Along with these, he has specialized training in Primavera scheduling, AutoCAD, OSHA 30, and Soil and Erosion Control Practices.
Blake and his wife Jennifer live in League City, TX. He enjoys golf and scuba diving and is active with oceanic conservation.
Tom Bush
Senior Project Manager
Tom has over 25 years experience in golf construction and agronomy with extensive experience integrating golf with lot development in master planned communities. He has a comprehensive understanding of golf construction’s impact on maintenance and budget.
Tom has managed projects throughout the US, Mexico and Caribbean and is well versed in workforce development, water procurement, sustainability, and management.
Tom received his education from the University of South Carolina in Business and Rutgers University in Golf Turf Management
